I make a point of checking in on some of the LGBT entertainment sites, even though some of them have gotten so huge and content-heavy that readers have to slog through the endless mounds of video blogs and puff posts to find content.
(And, I have to confess, a lot of the video blog phenomenon is wasted on me. The large-ish handful that I’ve watched have been lesbian-themed, but have had banter and production values that, by comparison, make the old Regis & Cathy Lee look like a Coppola film – you can pick either Coppola here.)
That said, I stumbled across Malinda Lo’s post about the recent marriage of Ellen DeGeneres and Portia Di Rossi on AfterEllen.com. Don’t worry, it’s not a video post, it’s a lovely and personal essay… one of those pieces that makes me sit up and say: “Wow. I wish I’d written that.”
