Read my latest post on this topic here.
A post by New York Times writer Katharine Seelye on The Caucus, the NYT’s political blog, is reporting that Rick Warren, the pastor at Saddleback Church, has been chosen by President-elect Barack Obama to deliver the invocation at his inaugural ceremony.
Holy conservative bitch slap, Batman.
This is the guy who recently said that the relationships of his “many gay friends” are no different from child rape, incest, or polygamy.
(Would someone please tell me how people like Warren and Sarah Palin manage to find so many gay friends?)
Warren also pumped the Prop. H8 anti-same-sex marriage engine by falsely claiming that Prop 8’s failure would somehow overturn the US Constitution’s First Amendment guarantees of freedom of speech and religion. (BTW, it can’t. No law or state constitution can.)
Watch some of the debate around Obama’s choice unfold:
Warren himself has acknowledged that the only difference between himself and Focus On the Family’s James Dobson is just “a matter of tone.” So given President-elect Obama’s stated commitment to bringing the country together, it’s hard to fathom the reasoning behind choosing such a divisive figure.
This guy is so conservative, conservatives are mad he’ll be at Obama’s inauguration.

Good post. Thanks for that video.
James Dobson is a PIG, and I can’t believe this man is allowed to speak. I am against Rick Warren, because he his a hateful bigot who preaches homophobia.
I question Obama’s choice. I don’t understand it. It make me question his whole religious belief. Perhaps he is a Rev. Wright follower.
