The media circus and travesty surrounding the recent “gender testing” of South African runner Caster Semenya has led to South Africa’s Minister for Women and Children filing a complaint with the United Nations over how her case was handled.

Maybe This is at the Root of Oprah’s Lesbian Obsession

Maybe it’s not her friendship with Gayle King that fuels Oprah’s apparent obsession with lesbians (especially mid-life coming out stories). Maybe Oprah is trying to expand her mind because of recent lesbian sex scandals in her South African girls school:

In a second sex-scandal within a year, the South African girls’ school sponsored by TV talk-show hostess Oprah Winfrey, has suspended seven girls for alleged lesbian activities. Last year, a matron was also charged with alleged sexual abuse of six pupils.

The (new) incident was confirmed by Oprah Winfrey’s spokeswoman in a telephone interview. (Read more here.)

Whether it’s her personal life, philanthropic life, or tabloid sensibility, it’s obvious Oprah is haunted by visions of lesbianism
